Dr. Hallstead specializes in 19th century Argentine literature with an emphasis on fashion narratives and late century women writers. Her Doctoral Dissertation is titled: Fashionation: Politics of Dress and Gender in Nineteenth Century Argentina, 2006. She is currently co-editing a volume on Argentine fashion forthcoming in Iberoamericana Vervuert. Dr. Hallstead is also working on her manuscript that deals with consumption and dress in Argentina 1852-1929.
