research overview

  • My scholarship assesses the intersection of human well-being and the integrity of ecosystems that support life on Earth. I use a combination of geospatial, quantitative, and qualitative research methods to assess contamination issues at multiple spatial scales. This work is grounded in exploring the connection of pollution with broader planetary health challenges and the structural drivers of health disparities, such as environmental change and social marginalization. I strive to conduct research that is community-centred, genuinely interdisciplinary, and collaborative, while focusing on solutions and communities’ aspirations beyond solely evaluating damage. My research program follows four main streams: - Globalized food systems contamination and planetary health, - Environmental health and infectious diseases, - Built environments, health equity, and environmental justice - Advancing knowledge in planetary health
