research overview

  • Dr. Montalto's research focuses in the two main areas. The first corresponds to the development of multiscale modeling frameworks, accelerated by novel data-driven approaches, to simulate complex engineering problems ranging from the response of composites, to the occurrence of stability problems across scales. The second area focuses on the development of sustainable and affordable low-damage devices for the protection of structures against natural hazards, that promote an equitable access to safe and resilient infrastructure.
