research overview

  • I use satellite remote sensing to track the location and quantity of seasonal snow on Earth's surface. My hydrology-focused work uses multispectral sensors (MODIS, VIIRS, Landsat) to produce datasets of snow cover and snow albedo that are used by water managers across the western United States. In other projects, I work to develop new techniques to measure snow water equivalent using synthetic aperture radar satellites (Sentinel-1, NISAR).
