Dr. Mishra's research interests include Edge Computing, Social Computing, Internet of Things, mobile and pervasive computing and dependable computing. His research addresses both infrastructure based systems such as the Internet and mobile, resource-constrained networks such as wireless networks, Internet of Things and sensor networks. Specific research subareas include (1) developing OS and middleware layer services for quantum computing systems; (2) developing system support to build context-aware applications at the edge; (3) misuse of Internet, e.g. hate speech in Arabic social media, subverting democratic process through Internet misuse, and cyberbullying in online social networks; (4) security and privacy in smart cities; (5) building socio-technical systems in environmental justice communities to improve health and well being; and (6) improving user experience in online games.
