Research

research overview

  • I am a harpsichordist specialising in historical performance practice and the praxis of early music. Academic research has included work on notational practices in 16th-century English keyboard music, with a forthcoming new critical edition of the 12 In nomines by John Bull. My expertise extends to teaching performance practice in both applied lessons and seminar contexts, basso continuo, tuning and temperaments, as well as directing the early music ensemble. I have a specific interest in the ethics of historically informed performance practice in the 20th and 21st centuries.
